Oregon Address FAQ
RandAddress generates realistic-looking Oregon addresses covering cities across the state. Each profile includes a street address, city, ZIP code, and a phone number on one of Oregon's four area codes (458, 503, 541, or 971). Handy for QA engineers validating tax-exempt flows, developers who need realistic Pacific-Northwest addresses for form-fill demos, and anyone who'd rather not put their real home address into a signup form.
Oregon truly has no statewide sales tax, and no city or county in Oregon adds a local sales tax either — the retail rate is a flat 0% everywhere in the state. Oregon funds itself mainly through a personal income tax and, since 2020, a Corporate Activity Tax (CAT) on businesses with Oregon-sourced revenue above roughly $1M. Neither shows up on consumer receipts, so any retail purchase made in Oregon is tax-free at checkout.
Street numbers and street names are procedurally generated at request time — they do not map to a physical property. What is real: the city, ZIP code, and area code are authentic Oregon postal and telecom data. Use this generator for unit tests, form-fill demos, QA runs, privacy-oriented signup flows, or UI mockups — but not for mail delivery, driver's license or voter-registration applications, KYC submissions, or anything that requires a deliverable, verifiable address.
Oregon's ZIP space spans 97001–97920. The Portland metro dominates the 970xx block (Portland 97201–97299, Beaverton 97003–97008, Hillsboro 97123–97124, Tigard 97223). The Willamette Valley fills 973xx (Salem — the state capital — 97301–97317) and 974xx (Eugene 97401–97408, Springfield 97477, Corvallis 97330). Southern Oregon uses 975xx (Medford 97501–97504, Grants Pass 97526) and parts of 974xx. Central and eastern Oregon use 977xx (Bend 97701–97703) and 978xx (Pendleton, Baker City, Ontario). The coast sits inside 974xx (Astoria 97103, Newport 97365). RandAddress only produces ZIPs that are live USPS-delivery codes inside Oregon.
Coverage mirrors Oregon's actual population distribution rather than a fixed shortlist. Portland-metro output is most common (Portland, Gresham, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, Lake Oswego), followed by Willamette Valley cities (Salem, Eugene, Springfield, Corvallis, Albany, Keizer). Southern Oregon (Medford, Grants Pass), central Oregon (Bend), and smaller coast / eastern towns appear less frequently, weighted by ZIP-density in the underlying dataset.
